Tummy Tuck vs Mini Tummy Tuck

Recommended Posts

Have any of you guys had Tummy Tuck or Mini Tummy Tuck? What was the cost of the procedure? Why did you choose one over the other? Thanks and I hope to hear back from some of you.

I had a Tummy Tuck + muscle repair and Lipo to my flanks, breast lift & augmentation, and arm lift last month. I paid a total of $16,100 in Miami. I got quotes for the same at home in Seattle ranging from $30,000-$40,000.

Thanks for responding. I believe the main thing I need to worry about is the areunder my belly button but we shall see. Do you know the difference in mini Tummy Tuck and Tummy Tuck? As much money as I am going to save on food and booze forever, I plan to do something!

I also had a TT, breast lift and Augmentation done in Jan. I was sleeved in July 2018.
The diff in a mini vs a full TT is the muscle tightening. The mini is just the skin and below the belly button. A full TT is full muscle tightening like a corset and then pulled down from above the belly button. Good luck to you!! Let us know what you decide to do so we can follow your PS journey!

Yeah, my full TT scar goes around to the back side of my hips. Benefit of the is a vast improvement in the “saddle bags” on my outer thighs.

that is crazy cheap. I had the full lower body lift plus the arm lift and breast lift (no augmentation) and I forked over around $40K in Chicago - but part of that is probably Chicago prices. Plus I had it all done in a hospital and had to stay overnight there (I had it done in two surgeries), so that adds to the cost, too. The price you got is more Mexico prices (I got a quote from a surgeon there - I think it was about $16K for all that)

And the funny thing is, my doc is considered really expensive in Miami! I could have had it all done elsewhere there for around $10,000 at a big, high volume clinic. It’s crazy how much prices vary around the country.

I had gotten a fleur de lis Tummy Tuck on January 5th of this year, lucky my insurance covers it fully along with the breast lift and thigh lift I will be needing later in the months. I would highly suggest checking with your insurance and plastic surgeons who work with those to save you some cash then if you want to have scar revisions or smaller ones it will be much much cheaper.

How did your muscle repair go? I’m having a Tummy Tuck with muscle repair and a breast lift soon.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
