R.I.P. Boobs

I did a bit of googling, and as with all things in life, it looks like it depends alot of factors (your age, amount of weight loss, age of implants, skin elasticity, etc...)

But from what little I have read, the three main complaints of massive weight loss after breast implants are (1) skin rippling around the implant (2) implant dropping lower due to loss of fullness, and (2) your new smaller size makes the implant look too big for your frame, and look disproportionate.

Since the implant itself does not change size, I would guess that you would not suffer from the tube boob look, so that alone is a good thing, lol.

Can you reach out to your original surgeon and ask for more info?

It depends greatly on whether the implant is in front of or behind the muscle. Weight loss with implant in front of muscle ( which is done less commonly but doesn’t affect ability to breast feed afterwards) definitely leads to sagging. Learned the hard way.

I'm definitely not missing mine. I went from a 58 DDD to a 36 A/B . I do miss having a little bit of lift though because they look like National Geographic circa 1984 or flat and long like basset hound dog ears. Ha! But I definitely do not miss those huge, heavy ones I had. I do get bothered that I've been asked twice now if I've had a mastectomy because I look flat chested. And I think that's odd for someone to ask that.

But I'd rather be a new inductee into the IBTC than crushed at night in my sleep with what I had.

@highlymedicated
I’m horrified that someone would even ask you that. What if you had, my mind is blown at what people say. Geez. Callus. I’m glad that you have not had a mastectomy and am sorry for anyone who has or is going through cancer treatment and get asked a question like that.

On the other hand congrats on the weight loss! That is AWESOME!!
I lost all my girls too when I lost my weight. They have since been brought to life here recently (8 mos ago or so). Mine were D before weight loss. Lost my weight and went down to an A. Mine looked crazy when I bent over. Nat Geo for sure. For me I wanted to bring mine back to life again. Nothing big but just in line w my body and the firmness now is a big plus I’ll say lol

I still have some boobage 🙂 but they're not perky and round like before. Now they're pitifully droopy and saggy and sad. 😞 Well, maybe that's got more to do with my advanced age rather than the weight loss. LOL! :-0

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
