My first vaccine is scheduled very soon. I am wondering if anyone has got it yet. I am curious if there are any side effects. I am a little bit nervous because as I have been losing weight, I noticed different side effects in meds, such as my body reacting more sensitively. I even feel weird if I take 3 Tylenol, instead of 2. It's like my body can't digest them properly or something.

I had the virus in November and have had both vaccine doses this month. No issues with the vaccine, other than I felt crappy the next day after the first dose.

I had 2 doses of Moderna in January. No issues after first dose. Feeling very tired, with muscle pain all over my body on the second day after second shot. Asked myself what is better: getting COVID or feeling crappy? Took 1000mg of tylenol and problem was gone!

I am very nervous about it. Both of my parents, in their 70's refused to get it. They think I am crazy to get it, but my doctor highly recommends it for me because of my health issues.

Oh ok thanks for letting me know. I know we are all different. If I took that much Tylenol, I would be so sick.

I work in a congregate setting where transmission is rampant and social distancing nearly impossible. I specifically asked my surgeon in mid December if given my recent surgery, there was any reason not to get the vaccine as it was likely to be available to me soon. He said there was no reason not to. I had my first dose of the Moderna vaccine 3 1/2 weeks ago. I had a sore arm for one day. I also did develop what is now being called Covid arm (Google it) but it is nothing serious. I get my second dose next week.

I got my first vaccine and I am scheduled for my second dose Sunday. My arm was a little sore the day after the shot but other than that I had no side effects. I'll update after my second one Sunday.
Even if you do get side effects, they only last a day or two and it's a sign your immune system is doing what it's supposed to.

I got the Comirnaty shot.

I didn't have any problems despite a bit of pain in the deltoid but I had that after several other vaccine shots as well in the past. I had a little bit of a headache after the second shot but nothing a pain killer wouldn't have taken care of.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
