arrington0711 16 Posted March 3, 2021 I’ll be starting mine (again) on Monday. To hold me over between shakes I found that chicken broth or tea helped sooooo much!
adventuremomof4 7 Posted March 4, 2021 I started my preop diet yesterday and it’s hard for sure. I have a Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch and 3-4oz. meat and a non starchy veggie. My Snacks are 2oz meat or cheese or boiled eggs and one no starchy veggie plus a healthy fat. 64 oz Water and 4 dill pickles or 2 cups broth per day. The bad news is it’s for three weeks! Surgery date is March 23 for SADI.
Cherié H 15 Posted March 4, 2021 I think it’s so interesting how much variety there is in the pre-op diet from doctor to doctor. I absolutely had no solid foods during my pre-op only 3 Protein Drinks ( 20g of Protein no more than 5g sugar) plus 64 oz of Water and sugar free popsicle or Jello and chicken broth. No solid food whatsoever. And that’s what I had 2 weeks before and two weeks after. So interesting....

JaysWife 22 Posted March 5, 2021 Mine is 4 Protein Shakes / day and 4 cups of non starchy veg/day. I have to use either Bariatric Advantage or fusion shakes. I haven't started yet, but the samples they gave me of the shake flavors are terrible 🤢

Cherié H 15 Posted March 9, 2021 (edited) I never did the popsicles and I got sick of Jello ( cuz I could only eat half of the serving which what was allowed) But, what I couldn’t keep down by phase 3 was Protein Shakes. What really helped was Water infusers and I Am in phase 5 part two so 3oz. Protein 3x a day. I’m still having to supplement. I used protein2.0 water and Isopure Water Infuser powder instead of protein shakes.< /strong> That made it tolerable and palatable for me. Now at week 10 post op and I’m still supplementing at least 20oz. But I can live with it. Edited March 9, 2021 by Cherié H Added info

HeatherE 202 Posted March 10, 2021 I am having two Protein Shakes a day and Clear Liquids (bone broth, Jello, popsicles, etc). I started yesterday and it is h-ll. Today I just slept. Couldn’t concentrate on work yesterday. I’m hungry!!! Surgery is March 22.
Cherié H 15 Posted March 10, 2021 Just focus on the goal. It’s hard I know. I kept thinking I wanted my liver to be shrunk really small so it would make the surgery as smooth as possible. I just wanted to minimize any risk I could. But it’s worth it. My health is so improved, I’ve lost almost 60lbs and I’m at week 10 post op. I walk and swim and workout and I can even cross my legs now. Hang in there.
