brandi.thomas 3 Posted February 12, 2021 I just had my sleeve done on the 10th of Feb as well. Mine hasn't been a easy process. I have been so nauseous couldn't keep anything down, pain was extremely hard. I also had a live biology done so I have a drained hose from my stomach. I can't tolerate Protein Shakes, so we are trying the Protein Water. I'm hoping to go home today from the hospital. I am definitely in the regretting I got this surgery phase. GreenThumb 37 Posted February 12, 2021 I'm sorry you're both having such a hard time - it DOES get better. Eventually you wake up one day and you've turned a corner. For me it was Day 5. Every day since then there have been noticeable improvements. Just get through the next few days, follow your surgeon's instructions, and do the best you can. kunkelgw 22 Posted February 18, 2021 I agree that it really does get better. Just keep "sipping" because fluids are very important. For me ice cold was best and it took me at least 2 weeks before tea and Decaf coffee. I was very lucky as I have a high pain tolerance so I did not notice any abdominal pain but did have the shoulder strap discomfort especially on the left side. The best advice is to follow the directions from your doctor/dietician and eat as they direct you. I had a very hard time with the Protein Drink brand that our Weight loss center promotes but now find that any made by Pure Protein are best for me to tolerate. Even while I experienced severe nausea after surgery for 2 days post surgery and had to stay an extra day, I had no regrets because I want a healthier life and to feel normal instead of being obese. The mental game in your head is hard at times. Best of luck.
