sumz30 0 Posted December 5, 2007 i have been experiencing extreme pain in my port area after i walk. this usually happens if i walk too fast on the treadmill.. if i keep it a bit slower its alrite.. i was banded on 3 nov n it has been a month since.. is this normal? shouldnt i be able to exercise normally now? i do not have any infection/redness etc and the wounds have been healing well.. so im a bit concerned.. is anyone else going through something similar? TulipStar 2 Posted December 6, 2007 4 weeks and you are still healing. I still had bad port pain when exercising even at week # 8 post op. You just have to take it easy. Are you really using your abs? I can do just about any exercise now as long as I stay away from sit-ups/core work. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
make33 2 Posted December 6, 2007 TulipStar's right--I've been to the YMCA three times now and just discovered that the leg press is what's been killing my port area! I just didn't realize how much I was using my abs in working on that machine. So, go slow on the treadmill and in a few weeks, up the speed and see how it works out!
