Jnfinney 527 Posted February 3, 2021 I currently work out 5-6 days a week and I do cardio as well as strength training. I will do a 30-45 minute jog and 30-45 minutes of strength training with weights. One of my biggest goals for myself when I started this journey was to get a more “fit” look and be able to see my toned muscles. I do not want to be a bodybuilder or completely ripped by any means, just toned. Has anyone else out there achieved this? If so, how did you do it? What exercises did you find toned your muscles the most? How long did it take? sorry for all the questions! 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
ANewJourneyAwaits 155 Posted February 8, 2021 I am wondering the same. I was sleeved on 12/24. I just started strength training today. I walk about 1.5 miles or 2 miles 4 times a week. And want to do strength training 1-3 times a week. I have 10lbs weights that I used for my arms, squats, did a plank for 30 seconds, medicine ball (12lbs) for my core, and some leg lifts. It was a lot harder now than before. Would like more input from others or any recs!
kristieshannon 1,668 Posted February 8, 2021 I joined 9Round Kickboxing. It’s a great combo workout of cardio and strength training. At 30 minutes it’s really efficient too!
lizonaplane 1,613 Posted June 2, 2021 @kristieshannon Are you still enjoying kickboxing? How far out from surgery were you when you first started? Anyone else do this? I think I'd like to try different things after surgery... assuming I ever get to schedule and HAVE my surgery...
kristieshannon 1,668 Posted June 2, 2021 @lizonaplane I’m on a hiatus right now as I took a travel nurse assignment in Boston for the summer. I’ll get started again when i’m back home in Seattle in late August. I started about a year ago, so at about 1 year post op. Prior to that I really only walked for exercise. It is so much fun, and an intense 30 minute work out that works your whole body. 1 lizonaplane reacted to this
