mweiss1998 79 Posted January 29, 2021 I am scheduled for surgery on Monday, February 1st (3 days and still waiting for insurance authorization) and it just hit me that I am a stomach sleeper. Am I going to get any sleep after the surgery while healing? Is it possible to sleep on your stomach soon after surgery? Cherie04 47 Posted January 29, 2021 I too am a stomach sleeper. I am almost 2 months post-op and have no problems sleeping on my stomach now. I had to sleep on my sides for a few weeks after surgery. I would forget and roll over to my stomach. It never hurt, it was just uncomfortable. 1 1 lizonaplane and mweiss1998 reacted to this
Crick 145 Posted January 30, 2021 That was one of my biggest concerns as a stomach sleeper. I had my surgery on Jan 14 and spent two nights in the hospital. Honestly, sleeping on my back in the hospital wasn’t as bad as them coming in to check vitals at 2 am or draw blood at 4:15 am. I was back sleeping on my stomach after 6 days. Really wasn’t uncomfortable. I’ve been sleeping soooo much better since then. 1 1 lizonaplane and mweiss1998 reacted to this
KarenVT 1 Posted February 8, 2021 It took me about three weeks before I could comfortably sleep on my stomach. Before that I used a pregnancy pillow. Not the same quality of sleep as actually sleeping on my stomach but it helped. You'll also be so tired during those first weeks, you might not care what position you are in! Good luck! 1 lizonaplane reacted to this
mweiss1998 79 Posted February 8, 2021 I made it back to my stomach by the 5th night. I'm glad it didn't last too long.
STLoser 1,099 Posted February 8, 2021 I really didn't have much pain at all around the incisions and I was able to sleep on my stomach the first night. I think I got lucky! It makes such a huge difference when you can sleep in your preferred position! 1 mweiss1998 reacted to this
