Jaye W 219 Posted January 26, 2021 Just wondering: For those who had a sleeve done and have a physically demanding job that involves lifting/ patient care activities how long you were off after surgery?
Arabesque 7,432 Posted January 26, 2021 I was told not to lift anything for two weeks after surgery. Then a maximum of 5 kg for the next two weeks, then 10kg for another fortnight. There’s a big difference between doing a few chores around the house & having to frequently lift objects & people at work. Check with your surgeon to see what they recommend. Is there a way you can do non lifting tasks at work? May be worth a conversation with your boss too. Good luck with your surgery.
RTL1234 99 Posted January 26, 2021 I’m in healthcare also, and while I’m in pediatrics sometimes we still get big kiddos. I took 4 weeks off. After 4 weeks I was cleared for lifting/doing whatever I needed. if you have the time, take it!!
