Shadow07 2 Posted January 24, 2021 Hi all, I'm about 2 months post op and just wondering what everyone does for something different for liquids. I struggle with just Water and sometimes want something other than Mio or Crystal light. I've had Gatorade Zero, Propel, Fairlife milk. Just looking for suggestions to keep it diverse! Thanks in advance! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
Arabesque 7,413 Posted January 24, 2021 Yeah, sometimes just plain Water can taste blah. I find green tea helpful. You can try herbal teas as well. I’ll also pour myself a large glass of sparkling water & let it sit until the bubbles greatly reduce or disappear & then sip on it over a couple of hours. I still drink plain water in between but I find I enjoy the minerally taste of the now flat sparkling water. Wish I thought to do it at the beginning to break the water monotony. I also found a good high Protein drinking yoghurt which helped reach protein & fluid goals. It’s easy to make your own too by blending milk with Greek yogurt & some berries or other fruit for flavour. Just avoid adding sweeteners (natural or artificial). Good luck on your journey. 2 GreenTealael and Shadow07 reacted to this
Elidh 240 Posted January 24, 2021 Hey, Shadow, I recently discovered Ocean Spray has a line of beverages called “Diet 5”, flavors include cranberry, ruby red grapefruit, cranberry-cherry, cranberry-apple, and others. Only 5 cal per serving and delicious! My new favorite. 2 Shadow07 and GreenTealael reacted to this
GreenTealael 25,430 Posted January 24, 2021 Now a number of companies have hopped on the reduced sugar, sugar free and sugar alternative bandwagon when making juice drinks I like tea (hot and iced) with a sugar sub, various Water enhancers, Vitamin water zero, diet Snapple, Bai drinks and I found this one recently and it’s not bad at all https://www.minutemaid.com/products/zero-low-sugar-juice-drinks 1 Shadow07 reacted to this
ksgypsy 52 Posted January 24, 2021 I mix @16 cups of Water with 2 large tea bags and 1 packet of Crystal Light Lemonade. Not quite as good as the bottled 1/2 & 1/2 mix in stores but still good without all the sugar. Wishing you much success! 2 GreenTealael and Shadow07 reacted to this

kristieshannon 1,668 Posted January 24, 2021 I buy the costco brand Vitamin Water with zero sugar. I can’t do plain water, but I drink 4-5 of these every day. Luckily with the Costco case pricing they’re only about .25/bottle! 1 Shadow07 reacted to this
BigSue 1,392 Posted January 24, 2021 I find that warm beverages are easier to drink than cold. I love Protein hot chocolate (much better than cold Protein Shakes, IMO). I also like hot tea (I've never been much of a tea drinker, but I do like apple cinnamon tea with sugar-free caramel Syrup -- reminds me of hot cider). My new favorite drink is Crio Bru, which is brewed cacao Beans. It is marketed as an alternative to coffee (which I don't like). 6 ounces Crio Bru + 2 ounces almond milk + sugar-free syrup = fantastic cup of 23-calorie hot chocolate. I also sometimes add 1/2 scoop of Protein Powder or use 2 ounces of ready-to-drink Protein Shake instead of almond milk. So many flavor combinations are possible! I love chocolate coconut protein powder + sugar-free caramel syrup. 1 Shadow07 reacted to this
