davis29 24 Posted January 22, 2021 Guys I'm so scared and nervous, I know this will be the start of a fantastic journey but surgery terrifies me. Only part I'm worried about is how ill feel when I wake up. Any encouraging thoughts or words would be much appreciated. Wish me luck!!Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 njlimmer reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted January 22, 2021 you'll do fine! All I really remember feeling the first day or two was TIRED! I slept most of the time. I really didn't have any pain. I felt a little nauseated the day of surgery, so I let the nurses know - they put Zofran in my IV line, which really helped. Other than that, it really was much better than I'd expected. Good luck to you!
BigSue 1,392 Posted January 22, 2021 Good luck! I was pretty miserable when I first woke up, but once I got to sip some Water and walk around, I was ok. I had surprisingly little pain and didn't need to take any pain medication, even Tylenol. When I first woke up, I did have the feeling of, "What have I done?! Why did I do this to myself?" and I think that is pretty common in the beginning, but for most of us, that goes away and we end up being very happy that we went through with it. I hope that doesn't make you more nervous or anything; my point is just that it is a big adjustment, but remember that you had very good reasons for getting this surgery, and don't get discouraged if it's hard at first. 1 Rhapsody43 reacted to this
