I’ve been at 290-295 since end of November. I’m supposed to be down to 260 by my next weight check in in March. I walk 2 times a day. Run 3-4 days a week. Usually eyeball my meals. What can I do to get this weight falling off again?!? Thanks!!!

Maybe consider starting to track your food again...weigh, measure, log, etc. Sometimes our guesstimates are not even close, and it is still important to get that Protein in. Also, maybe try adding in some strength training with weights, bands, and/or body weight workout videos on YouTube. Mixing up your workout regimen is good for health and weight loss.

You can do this! 💕

Have you been measuring yourself? You may be losing inches and gaining muscle which can seem like your stagnating in a stall.

Congrats on your weight loss so far. Whoo hoo!

Maybe measure & weigh your food again for a while & check calorie content. I’m an eye baller too but I know it can be easy to let the serving sizes slowly increase. Check to make sure the food you are eating is on your recommended diet.

Are you still meeting your daily Protein goals too? You sound pretty active and may need more.

Good luck.

Protein is very important post surgery & for your weight loss. Too little protein can actually hinder your weight loss. Check with your support team as to how much protein you should be including in your diet. I was told 60-70g per day during weight loss (60g in maintenance) but people are given different goals.

Also ask your team what your calorie goal should be.

I understand what you're going through and honestly, hang on there! I stalled from Thanksgiving day (only lost a pound between Halloween and Thanksgiving) until yesterday. I had surgery July 9 and have only lost 45 pounds. I am thankful for that loss but read on here how others near my starting weight (5'5 on a good day and 205 pounds) have reached goal and gotten to 124 in 6 or 7 months. I started a pouch reset (I'm on day 4) and the scale moved down 2.4 pounds as of day 3. Also saw my surgeon for 6 month check in and he recommended the Baritastic app and I've been tracking. I had only been getting in 60g Protein a day and upped it to 81 to 95. Upped my exercise intensity as well. But the thing that did it was the reset. Maybe sub a Protein Shake for a meal on a daily basis? Changing it up is always good for a stall.

that's too long for a stall - sounds like you're in maintenance. I'd go back to tracking food. I still track at almost six years out. I don't trust myself with eyeballing portion sizes.

What is maintenance?

it's when you've achieved your desired weight and want to just maintain it and not lose anymore. If you're NOT at your desired weight, then you'll need to make some changes in order to keep losing - such as cutting more calories and/or increasing your activity. Otherwise, your body is going to stay where it is...

I would make sure your Protein intake is where it should be. That was my doctor's main recommendation. My surgeon's PA did say my body was probably getting comfy at my current weight. I just didn't realize I needed to up my protein after post surgery by 20 grams. I do try to look at the bright side of my mistake. Fast fat loss means sagging skin and my face has already aged from the loss I've had so far. And I'm not that old.

Thank you everyone this helped me get through my stall. Between 3.5 and 5 weeks post op I wasn't losing any weight. I was transitioning from puree to real food. Upping Protein and Water is what I think helped the most. The body has to adjust. Thanks everyone.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
