Meera 4 Posted January 17, 2021 Well, i am 6 weeks post op on Monday coming, I've noticed old habits are creeping back in and i find myself munching on slider foods, I can't seem to get all my fluids in or don't kniw what i can cook for myself that would be easy. Im eating slider foods such as crisps, chocos, cake and custards etc only because it's easier to grab and easy to eat. I really need to get back into it. 2 weeks and I've stayed the same weight :'( Sent from my VOG-L29 using BariatricPal mobile app
catwoman7 11,220 Posted January 17, 2021 yes you do need to get back into it, or you're going to fail the surgery. You're in the stage where it's fairly easy to lose a ton of weight, so you need to take full advantage of that. It's never going to be easier in your life to take off a bunch of weight than it is right now, so don't blow it. The further out from surgery you go, the harder it is. If you really want to lose the weight and be successful, then you know what you have to do... 3 Arabesque, Suzi_the_Q and pdc1605 reacted to this
Arabesque 7,426 Posted January 17, 2021 Yep, you know what you’re doing is not helping you & the only person who can get you back on track is you. The process is not easy. It takes a lot to examine your eating habits & implement the changes you need to make to be successful. It can be quite stressful which could be why you’re turning back to your old comfort food. As @catwoman7 said you’re in the prime weight losing time. Grab this opportunity with both hands. There’s a lot of us who at some stage have been tempted & sometime we may weaken & slip. But if we want to be successful we pick ourselves up & get back on our journey. Get rid of the food that tempts you down the wrong path out of your house. Prep meals ahead & freeze so all you have to do is reheat. Quick & easy. I’m a big believer in freezing individual meal portions. It helped me stay on track & not consistently worry about what I was going to eat. Good luck. 2 1 JessicaLY, pdc1605 and Uomograsso reacted to this
Deb9386 110 Posted January 17, 2021 I've also been very tempted to fall back into old eating habits. I don't keep those foods in the house because I know I'd eat them in a weak moment. Just throw it all away - it's better than using your body as the dustbin. Nobody - fat or thin - needs to be eating these empty calorie foods.
Guest Posted January 17, 2021 I went through a period during the holidays that my old habits started to creep back in so I know how you feel. We all do. This is the time you have to be mentally tough and not give in. Just last night before going to bed, the plate of fresh baked Peanut Butter Cookies was screaming my name but I didn't give in. I grabbed my phone and looked at my before picture and that's all the motivation I needed.
