juliegeraci 7 Posted December 5, 2007 I have to pay $200 out of pocket for my fills. I need to fight UHC. My doctor is not in network but I believe if there is no specialist with 30 or 60 miles of where you live you can fight them to pay. Has anyone else ever been through this. What did you have to do to have them pay for fills?
bretta717 0 Posted January 2, 2008 I had United Healthcare and my fills were a specialist co pay? I never ever had a issue at all. Unfortantely I had to change job and am in the process of seeing if my new insurance Aetna will cover fills. Call customer service and go up through the chain until you get someone who understands or have your dr contact. Did United Healthcare cover the surgery? juliegeraci 7 Posted January 2, 2008 Hi There. Yes, the covered him out of network. I think I paid around $2k. I wrote them a letter recently to their appeals department so I am waiting to hear back from them. How much are your fills?
Chris61 0 Posted February 1, 2008 Have you talked with your doctor about this? IS he willing to try and sign up with them. Also have you talk with your company insurance broker to see if they can help you with this problem. UHC did not pay for are first to fills from the doctor it this went on for 3 months and I got the company involded and come to find out it all had to do with how UHC felt that since it was less than 90 days after surgery that it was covered under his surgery fee. pta2007 3 Posted February 1, 2008 I have UHC as well and they pay for all of my fills. Is it because he is out of network? I was under the impression that they still paid for a percentage even if they were out of network.

My doctor claims there is no code and wants $175 per fill up front. Appreciate the help. Reply to komishe@sccoast.net Thanks, Sheila
