2feelgood 3 Posted January 10, 2021 I had gastric sleeve. I have regained a lot of my weight sitting around with the covid, just one poor excuse. I have no energy. I have GERD now and saw my doc. he is having me do a endoscopy and UGI. He thinks I will have to convert to GBP. Not being cynical, but of course he does, He is a surgeon. If I really focus and try to just take the weight off, wouldn't that be better than BPG. has anyone just did that? 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

But please remember GERD testing can tell you how severe your situation is and how quickly you need to act. Good Luck ♥️
catwoman7 11,220 Posted January 11, 2021 GERD after sleeve doesn't happen to everyone, or even to the majority, but there's a fairly significant minority who develop it after surgery - enough so that they usually recommend people go with RNY if they have GERD prior to surgery. Losing weight may help with that - but then again, it might not since it IS a known potential side effect. You could always try to lose the weight first and see if that does the trick - and if not, go for the revision (if that's what you want to do - you may be able to control it with meds, too...)
