Let us have more information as to your pre-surgery weight, which surgery, surgery date, etc. It's all available fields to update in your profile. Then we'll be better able to understand and guide you.

I “gained” seven pounds of Fluid on the day of surgery, as they pumped me full of IV fluids so that I was less likely to be dehydrated the few days following. It took about a week to work through my system and then for my body to start healing from the shock of surgery. Depending on how far you are from surgery, it could be Water retention or your body being in shock from surgery. If that’s the case, maybe give yourself some time and grace to begin recovering...

If it has been much longer, more info would help us to help you.

A few days is way too soon for the number on the scale to mean much. You still have internal swelling from surgery and Water weight from IV fluids. Not to worry! 🤗

Yes, totally normal. I actually weighed more at my one-week follow-up than I did on the day of surgery (I've lost more than 80 pounds since then). It's because of the IV fluids. Don't worry about your weight right now -- just focus on getting your Protein and fluids. I promise you will start losing weight if you stick to your plan. Your body just went through a major surgery, so everything's a little wonky right now.

I lost maybe a pound that first week. Everyone is right. It is Water from IV fluids. There will be many times when you lose nothing or next to nothing for a week or two (stalls). The weight will come off. Just stick with your surgeon’s plan and trust the process. 💕

Agree with what others have said. As hard as it was, I didn’t look at the scale until 2 weeks post-op.

You're still pumped up full of Fluid. I gained 10lbs in the hospital, only started losing a few days ago and I had RNY 12/29. It'll happen.

I finally started to drop 😊 12 pounds total so that equals about a pound a day. Hoping it continues to drop!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
