Cassandra581 0 Posted December 4, 2007 I think I'm doing pretty well. I'm down twenty-three pounds, which I think is pretty good. But I don't know anyone else have their surgery about the same time? How are you doing with the diet. I find myself struggling to stay on track. I am a serious red meat eater and I miss it soo much!
Longhorn 1 Posted December 5, 2007 I was banded the day before you. I don't have an official weight loss total because I only get weighed at the doctor's office. I'll see him again on December 14. But I'm definitely getting smaller based on how my clothes are fitting (and my husband's occasional surprised comments!) My diet is going pretty well. I probably have more liquid than mushies just because my schedule is such that I have to eat while driving a lot. I'm looking forward to soft foods (a week from Thursday!) so that I can take some other foods with me. There are several of us who were banded around the same time as you so you should feel at home here.
Cassandra581 0 Posted December 5, 2007 Hi Longhorn, Glad to hear your doing so well. I wish I could stay away from the scale but I haven't been able to yet. It's good to know that there's a group of people at exactly the stage you are that you can interact with. I look forward to post with all of you.
DonHoll1 0 Posted December 5, 2007 It will not be too much longer before you can have some beef. Just make sure it is tender. I love it too and i still eat steak. Donna
Skinny_Jill 36 Posted December 5, 2007 Cassandra, What a great weight loss! I am only down 5 pounds since surgery on the 20th. I was only on liquids for 2 days and then moved to soft foods. What type of diet did your Doc have you on after surgery? Jill

Cassandra581 0 Posted December 6, 2007 Cassandra, What a great weight loss! I am only down 5 pounds since surgery on the 20th. I was only on liquids for 2 days and then moved to soft foods. What type of diet did your Doc have you on after surgery? Jill Hi Jill, I think my doctor had me on the pretty standard diet. It was all Clear Liquids for the first week. The second week I could add creamy Soups, sugar free Jello pudding, and cream of wheat. The third I was able to add soft scrambled eggs, liverswurst, string cheese, oatmeal, fish as long as it was soft and moist. He also said that I could eat meats as long as they were pureed. I skipped that offer. As a meat lover I found that it offended my senses. The fourth week I added vegetarian sausages to my diet just so that I could have the taste of meat without actually having the calories or fat that go along with it. Morning Star Breakfast patties are great, they have 10 grams of Protein each and they are only 80 calories each. But now I'm back up to regular foods and everything seems to be going fine.
