Snacks and Protein Bars

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks! Happy New Year!

Just curious what everyone is eating for Snacks? I just order some protien puffs from twin peaks ingredients. Excites to try them!

Also, is anyone else using protien bars instead of shakes once their doctor gu3ves them the go ahead? I have been eating Pure Protein Bars for a couple weeks now. They are good (depending on the type), but are supet heavy. Any other protien bar suggestions?

I used to eat and still like Pure Protein Bars alright, the plain chocolate ones, not the Peanut Butter ones. I really, really like Optimum Nutrition Protein Cake Bites in the chocolate frosted donut flavor. I thought I liked "moon cheese" Snacks, but not so much anymore. I don't like Pork rinds. I still do the occasional sugar-free popsicle. Oh, and peanuts.

I generally have the triple chocolate bar from Atkins. It's 13 grams of Protein, 160 calories, 1 gram of sugar, 8 grams of fat, and 15 carbs. Snacks vary. I sometimes will have a fruit cup, carrots and ranch dip, mini bell peppers with some cheese sprinkled on it dipped in salsa, protein chips, carb smart ice cream, a cheese stick, unsweetened apple sauce cup, etc.

I do not eat Snacks. I just eat three meals per day and sometimes add Protein Drinks between meals.

I do eat a Protein Bar as a meal sometimes. I'm obsessed with Built Bars -- I've tried a lot of different Protein bars, and nothing else has ever measured up to Built Bars. It seems like most people either love them or hate them, so I'd recommend starting with one box to see if you like them. They have a 6-bar variety box and an 18-bar box with all 18 flavors on their web site. You can buy single bars from the BariatricPal Store, but the shipping isn't worth it unless you're already buying other stuff (and they don't have all of the flavors).

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
