peachmedly46 8 Posted December 29, 2020 Hey guys, I’m 4 weeks post op as of today. Since surgery I’ve only lost 9 lbs. I lost more during my 2 wk pre-op diet. Which I lost 13lbs. Is something wrong? 1 ichabodny reacted to this
Hop_Scotch 1,633 Posted December 29, 2020 Absolutely nothing wrong, you are doing great. Please remember you started off on a lowish weight so will not lose the higher amounts you may have seen on weight loss surgery shows or on people here whose start weight is/was much higher than 204lbs. Your surgery date shows about three weeks not four weeks post op, but regardless 9lb in three or four weeks after losing 13lb in pre-op stage is pretty good given the start weight. Keep up your great work! 3 Arabesque, peachmedly46 and ksgypsy reacted to this

Your BMI is actually pretty low, so 9 lbs might be fine for you (I would say most of us are somewhere in the 15-25 lb range that first month, but you're what we call a "lightweight", so 9 lbs might not be that unusual for someone at your weight. 3 ksgypsy, Arabesque and peachmedly46 reacted to this

GradyCat 3,695 Posted December 29, 2020 At four weeks out you're probably hitting your first stall. It's inevitable. Everybody hits their first stall at Week 3 or Week 4. That might be slowing you down. But seriously, you're doing fine. Don't compare yourself to other people's weight losses at the same point because they started at different weights, are different ages, genders, and so on. Everybody's journey is unique to them. 1 peachmedly46 reacted to this

Keep up your great work! Agree 100% with this post. Everyone's body is different; age, start-weight, etc are all factors. People put start weight, lost weight stats etc and I never knew how to calculate that my first month post-op. My start weight was much, much higher then yours and I lost before the surgery, had complications with massive swelling, gained 13 lbs from the surgery, nothing but a couple lbs the week after (miserable!) the 3 weeks out started losing like close to 20 lbs in just a week (the swelling went down completely and lost the surgery weight I had gained). I've lost very quickly since then but other conditions affect that as well. Also, inches count! Now, at 4 months out with a new job this last month that is VERY physical labor in a factory have contributed to lbs not going down but my pants are falling and inches are going down. You can't go bad with this really. Just give it time and be patient honestly-you'll be feeling good in no time and feeling the weight loss more as you heal and get into a more normal way of life.
