I wanted to be safe and not pop back up into the 2's but I think 10 pounds is very safe so ........its a Christmas miracle!!!! I am 190 today with a dry weight!!! Its such an amazing feeling knowing that this surgery was the correct decision and even though at times I wish I could take a big bite of something super satisfying or grab a cold soda this is a much better feeling!!!

I have been able to get rid of so many medications in a month its just plain crazy!!!! What a ride folks what a ride :)

That’s so awesome! Congratulations!

The only medications I take with respect to physical health are omeprazole and lisniopril. I’m looking forward to cutting the lisniopril (blood pressure!), but I know I’ll be on the omeprazole for 3 months after surgery (protocol for my surgeon’s office). I’m wondering if my mental health meds will change, too. (I have moderate OCD.)

Contrats! it's a big milestone and I can't wait to get there myself. I hit a stall at 210 and have been stuck here a month :( but I know it will be here eventually if I keep working.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are an inspiration! I had an RNY 20 days before you and have lost 30lbs. Not that I'm disappointed- I had a bit of a rough time- but 41 in such a short time is amazing! Go you!! YAY!!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
