Lolalita 11 Posted December 17, 2020 Hi,Just had my surgery in 12/15 and I feel really gassy plus my body decided to send me my monthly gift too, aka my period. Any suggestions on food intake. I’m allowed to eat mushy foods but I’m scared now. Today I drank half a bottle of Protein Shake with no problems. Also drank Protein water and regular Water too in 30ml (1oz) cups. I don’t want to over do it. How will I know it’s too much? At the hospital I threw up a lot because of the meds and the contrast. I don’t want to throw up at home too. Guest Posted December 17, 2020 Your plan should advise you on type and quantity. I ate refried Beans, creamed Soups (blended or strained, no chunks), pudding, yogurt (no fruit added) - Protein Powder added to each, ricotta bake (a lot), Protein Shakes. TheBlackStar 17 Posted December 18, 2020 Omg I had my surgery on 12/15 and I got my cycle on 12/16! But I’m on a straight clear liquid diet for a week. No soft foods for me until week three. After the clear liquid diet, I’ll be able to drink Protein Shakes. 1 Lolalita reacted to this
Lolalita 11 Posted December 19, 2020 I’m on the liquid diet with 3 meals. Third day (today) I’m allowed mushy foods. Just had super ground Turkey. Yummy

I threw up a lot at the hospital too... honestly thought I was overdosing on morphine, but they kept giving to me regardless of me telling them the pain was manageable. Honestly felt like a drug addict lol, I would wake up from a sleep drooling and then throw up. And then do it all over again. I would suggest you start writing everything down, how much you intake and how you felt after. Maybe after a week or two you will notice a pattern. 1 1 Lolalita and Ada_1 reacted to this

Now I’m 6 days post and feeling better but my intake hasn’t improved much either. I can drink a whole bottle of Water 12-14 oz and or Gatorade, but not a bottle of Protein Shake. Check up is soon. Im telling it all.
Katiebal_Lecter 28 Posted December 21, 2020 Congratulations! I had my procedure done on 12/17 and my body sent my my period in full force even though I haven’t had a proper period in three years. Crappy that we had to deal with that on top of recovering from the surgery. I too am gassy... and it’s a gas from hell, let me tell you, Uffda, so stinky. my surgeon had me on purées before I left the hospital (I had to be at the hospital and extra day because I couldn’t get my nausea to go away). I made a ricotta bake that is like lasagne, I added a photo of the Pinterest recipe.

I had my surgery not too long ago either, while I was ambitious to get all liquid, Protein, etc in, I have to admit I am sort of failing too. I consume a water bottle a day, some of my shake and maybe some broth. That is all I am consuming right now

rachelblank1 6 Posted December 30, 2020 If my doctor would let me eat these things this week, I would be so much happier.I'm telling you!! Tomorrow is a week post op, I can't even start a full liquid diet until day 10, and won't start soft foods until day 15. [emoji30] It's always so interesting to see how different doctors have different plans... I'm not physically hungry, but mentally I feel like I'm struggling with all the liquids..Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
