HealthyLifeStyle 351 Posted March 18, 2021 I didn't lose a son to suicide, I lost my dad. I witnessed his suicide when I was only 12 yrs. old. It is now 40 yrs. later, and it seems like just yesterday. I understand the pain of losing someone, believe me. I was daddy's little girl. I ended up with PTSD because of this, and will be on meds for the rest of my life. I am very sorry to hear about your son.

ShoppGirl 5,024 Posted April 3, 2021 I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad to suicide and it is very tough. I found that time was the only thing that really helped. It went from being the first and last thing I thought about each day to being the second thing and so on. Now I am finally able to think of him and smile. You are already a step ahead of me though at this point. I let the stigma of suicide keep me from talking in the beginning which is what we need to heal. I was already in therapy and I felt that helped me a lot as well but that may be because I wasn’t taking to anyone else. Still, Something to consider.
