😆 yes - I've dreamt about eating the foods I love and which I can't eat any more!

I just told my hubby I wish Willy Wonka would have made a low carb high Protein all day chew that had a pizza changing to Big Mac changing to cheese cake hard candy!!!! LOL. My mouth just wants to chew some real food!!!! I see the Dr tomorrow for my two week check up and praying for regular food in a blender because I am tired of drinking my meals :)

I think as adult humans we just desire chewing our food. Remember pop rocks as a kid and the anticipation of the snap and pop in your mouth, there is just something about the feel of the food as well as the taste.

I did that a lot at the beginning, and I still dream about food from time to time. In my dream I'm always eating a huge amount of forbidden foods. I'm also aware that I shouldn't be and feel guilty about it. I'm quite relieved when I wake up and realize it wasn't true.

I dream about it sometimes at 5.5 years out of surgery. I still dream about smoking sometimes, and I quit 26 years ago. I think addictions are sometimes like that...

Same with me. It doesn't happen anymore, but I used to have dreams of totally pigging out on pizza, ice cream, and eating a whole cake. I would feel terrible, guilty, and shamed. Then I would wake up and be soooooo relieved!

A few months back I dreamed of bread every night for over a week. I was seriously missing it. My nutritionist gave me the okay to add low carb bread into my diet, but it made me dump so bread makes me very wary now...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
