Brinleigh 1 Posted December 3, 2020 Does anyone else have a hard time getting their shakes in? I’m 3 weeks post sleeve and I’m supposed 2 have 3 8 ounce shakes a day, each shake being drank over the course of 2 hours. 1 GradyCat reacted to this
Hop_Scotch 1,632 Posted December 3, 2020 Most people will have difficulty reaching targets in the first few weeks, and this continues on in the pureed and soft food stages until inflammation has reduced and your stomach is more or fully healed. You do the the best you can, and at this stage this is hydration and Protein. Eventually you will find you can consume more and will be able to think beyond protein and fluids. I am not sure I could consume the same drink over two hours, the Protein Shake changes texture within 30 minutes or so, and its not really palatable. I use to make a 1/2 cup every few hours, but typically would consume only four or five per day, sometimes in the early stages I wouldn't finish the half cup. 1 Arabesque reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted December 3, 2020 I loved the Protein Shakes, still do, I still drink at least 1 a day two years post-op. I drink premade GNC Lean shakes.
Mr Alley Gator 263 Posted December 3, 2020 Try making your own remember the shake is not the only way . Take one shake and substitute the other two with the protean Soups. That is what I did like the soups better then the drinks bottom line get the Protein in any way you like does not have to be in shake form 1 Arabesque reacted to this
JRT Mom 919 Posted December 3, 2020 Ugh. Those things are murder to get down! I diluted mine with ice cold Water and it helped. And if you are allowed coffee they make great Creamers. A good one is the Fairlife shakes. They don't have that cloying viscosity that a lot of them do. The Fairlife Core Power Elite vanilla is 42 grams of Protein and tastes just like melted Breyers vanilla ice cream--yum!
bufbills 316 Posted December 4, 2020 I had trouble with premier about a week and a half after surgery. Switched to muscle milk and they were much easier. Maybe try another brand.
