dens425 8 Posted November 28, 2020 So I had my surgery in the begining of July 2020. Lost some at first but since end of September I stalled until today Nov 27th. Just list 5 lbs. What I do not understand is I have been doing the same thing Protein and Water keeping calories low but once I have a ton of carbs grazing 2 days in a row of carbs I finally lose 5 pounds. I just do not understand why doing the opposite of what I have been doing is causing weight loss.hw 417sw 351cw 328gw 175 cross fingers 2 GradyCat and BigJay79 reacted to this
summerset 5,265 Posted November 28, 2020 I only have one comment on this: Carbohydrates are not the evil guys. 1 Circlesis reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted November 28, 2020 It happens to me too. I need a few carbs in my life to stay regular and lose weight. It seems like I stall forever and then when I eat something "bad" I end up losing weight. It's the weirdest damn thing. My husband calls me Opposite Girl. I guess the body needs a little shaking up now and then.
summerset 5,265 Posted November 28, 2020 It's not the "weirdest damn thing", it's the effect of a refeed. 1 Jaelzion reacted to this

I have to keep carbs low most of the time to lose weight but a refeed will break a stall when my body has gotten too comfortable at a plateau. One of life's nicer little paradoxes. 😁 Edited November 28, 2020 by Jaelzion 1 BigJay79 reacted to this

When it comes to the topic of diet, food, calories and especially carbohydrates it can get quite controversial. Low-carb or Keto diets are very en vogue these days, just as low-fat diets were a few years ago. Go with what you feels most comfortable to you and don't be afraid to make adjustments as time goes by and weight goes down. Your nutritional needs will change over time. And go with what feels most comfortable to you, not to your best friend, your surgeon, your dietician, a random person online, your mother or Uncle Bob's best buddy. Talk is cheap. That includes dietary advice.

Our bodies get use to the same foods and same routine and that is why u hit a snag. Switch it up a bit, take something away from your diet for two weeks and then see ur results. I was a huge pop/soda drinker. For two weeks I stopped drinking the pop/soda and I lost 15 pounds. I ate what I wanted but all I did was drink Water and nothing else. I lose that 15 pounds without doing anything drastic. Hope this helps. Sent from my SM-G781U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 dens425 reacted to this
