My week 2 says scrambled eggs, cottage cheese and Greek yogurt

I’m still considered liquids. How do you I liquify scrambled eggs? Can I just boil an eggs and put a tad mayo and blend it? I’m so confused why scrambled eggs is on my week 2 😂

I don’t have my post op nutrition visits until the 14th

these are puree or soft foods rather than liquid. I was able to eat those kinds of foods at week 2, but not all surgeons recommend the same diet. You can always call your clinic to confirm those are OK for week 2.

Scrambled eggs are soft, so they go down easy, even though they still need to be chewed thoroughly. I’d only do one egg though. I started them on week two and they were a pleasant change from Protein Shakes.

So long as you don't overcook them and keep them soft, then you're golden (you can also add a little bit of milk to the scramble so they are "looser")

They call Greek yogurt full liquids and cottage cheese, scrambled eggs are soft and you will only be able to have 1 or 2 bites and be full. If you are not comfortable eating those things then wait .

I always make my scrambled eggs on milk - 1 splash per egg. (I used to use cream if I had any & a good knob of butter in the pan pre wls lol.) When I was on purées I just added an extra splash of milk when whisking the eggs & when cooked I blended them with a little more milk to make it smoother and looser. Of course I used a non stick pan too & no cream anymore.

Once I started on soft foods, I could tolerate cottage cheese, yogurt and refried Beans that were thinned with broth, but my tummy did not tolerate eggs for several more months. It's different for everyone, so just experiment until you find what works for you. And your list of tolerated foods will change each week.

Scrambled eggs don't have to be pureed because they're soft. They're allowed on Week 2, just don't overdo it.

Different plans seem to have some differences in what’s considered a liquid or a purée. I’ve heard that some plans consider yogurt a liquid, and some people are even allowed to eat yogurt while still in the hospital. I couldn’t have yogurt until purées (1 week post-op). And I couldn’t have eggs until soft foods, but I didn’t even try them until I was almost 3 months out because I’ve read that a lot of people don’t tolerate them early on. Fortunately, I haven’t had any problems with scrambled eggs. I’ve read that adding cottage cheese to scrambled eggs make them more tender, so I add 1/2 ounce cottage cheese to 1 egg.

I had my 2-week post-visit and was advanced to the soft/puree stage. So eggs are more like "soft scramble" - that's how it was described to me. But with the reminder to limit amount because we normally can put away more scrambled eggs than we think - going off sight. Also, if you don't tolerate it well, she mentioned returning to liquids (full and clear)

Be careful - hoping for success for you! :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
