Mine seems to be a lot more lenient than others... I was having stuff like refried Beans, scrambled eggs, fish, etc... during week 2. I am 3 weeks out now, and I have been having things like chili (ground beef, Tomato sauce, Beans and spices), chicken chile relleno Soup, wheat thins or triscuits, and so forth. It's all listed on my sheet from my dietician...

I have been tolerating everything well (except the Calcium I had... I will have to get something different).

Jealous!!! Lol. I'm in week 2 PO, and on full liquid. I feel good and am ready to try some food. I'll make it five more days though. Ugh

I keep seeing the advertisement for mr. Tortilla on Facebook. Are they good?

They're not bad. Obviously, they don't taste like real tortillas, but for 15 calories and 1 net carb, they serve their purpose. I've made taco shells with them by spraying with nonstick spray and air-frying (using some aluminum foil to hold the shape). I also make tiny wraps with them, and when I do that, I put 7 grams of shredded cheese in a nonstick pan, place the tortilla on top, and heat to melt the cheese onto the tortilla (cheese side down so the cheese gets a little crispy). I think that helps the texture.

My MD doesn’t even have a puree stage at all. It’s 4 weeks post op all liquid. I’m at day 15 post op and cottage cheese sounds amazing, but oh well.

I wouldn’t recommend picking and choosing different diet plans from different surgeons. I trusted my surgeon enough to let him surgically remove most of my stomach, I’ll trust his post op advice as well. Plus, I need all the boost I can get with weight loss as I still have 100 lbs left to lose, so liquid diets suck, but they sure do get rid of those lbs.

My nutritionist and doctor don't even agree on the diet plan and it's the nutritionist he referred me to.

My doctor got irritated at me for eating Laughing Cow cheese during the soft food stage - even though it was on the list of foods to eat PDF that my nutritionist sent me. I told him that and he just shrugged and told me not to take her advice. 😂 😂 😂 😂 .... MmmmmmmMMM k.

I just follow his advice though. I trust his recommendations.. but it can be very confusing if you start googling recipes for each stage of your journey..

I never got any good diet advice other than eat Protein first at least 80 grams then get my carbs from fruits and veggies. I was doing great, playing tennis 5 days a week then tore my meniscus and had to have surgery gained weight not eating much. Then a coupe of years later slip on ice and break my ankle and wrists. I have osteopenia in my lower back. No where else. Anyone have a decent diet to follow. I eat like a bird so it’s frustrating that my weight loss stopped after my injuries

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
