Horseshowmom 45 Posted November 14, 2020 This was a topic we didn’t talk a lot about at my appointments, but I became curious last night. I’m only 5 days post op, and last night I woke up very cold and chilled, no fever, and had been having really vivid dreams that I could remember well. The only other time I can recall this onslaught of chills and shivering and vivid dreaming was after my pregnancies when your are going through such big hormonal changes and dumping. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this...I also understand it could have zero to do with the surgery.
catwoman7 11,220 Posted November 14, 2020 I don't know if yours is hormone-related or not, but a lot of women DO experience hormone dumps after surgery. It'll usually stabilize a few weeks or months after the weight loss slows down. 3 AZhiker, Horseshowmom and Arabesque reacted to this

Guys do too ("I'm not usually bitchy...!") 2 Arabesque and Horseshowmom reacted to this

Fat stores estrogen and hormone dumping when the fat starts melting away can also happen to guys. Eat some pickles! Arabesque 7,414 Posted November 15, 2020 There are a few other hormones besides oestrogen stored in our fat too including ones that regulate our appetite, insulin, metabolism & blood pressure. You may find that these go a bit crazy too. My cholesterol levels also went up as I lost weight & then settled back at it’s normal range after I hit my goal. 2 AZhiker and Horseshowmom reacted to this
