Horseshowmom 45 Posted November 12, 2020 This term has never been brought up at any of my appointments. I can try to define it in my head, but I’d love to hear the actual verbiage to define it. I had my surgery Monday, I was switched from bypass to sleeve because of some scar tissue and a hernia near my c section scars, my doc also fixed a hiatal hernia, so I had a lot going on in there, lol. So maybe it will be brought up at my 1 week appointment, but right now I am still being educated:) 1 Lily66 reacted to this
Arabesque 7,459 Posted November 12, 2020 For me, my restriction feels like a tightness which runs down the centre of my rib cage. So I guess running the length of my oesophagus. I find myself rubbing that centre rib cage ridge as if to ease the tightness by massaging the bones. Lol. I sometimes thump it too. Crazy the things we do subconsciously. I get it if I eat or drink too quickly (usually when dining out), or if my tummy isn’t enjoying something I’ve eaten. 1 Horseshowmom reacted to this

GivinItMyALL 169 Posted November 12, 2020 In the case of a sleeve it is the physical restriction you get after the surgery. Your new stomach (pouch/sleeve) is only ~20% of the size of the old, so it is restricted in the amount you can eat. 1 Horseshowmom reacted to this
Tracyringo 503 Posted November 12, 2020 Its the feeling you get at Thanksgiving dinner. Dont expect it with a by pass. 1 Horseshowmom reacted to this
Lily66 425 Posted November 12, 2020 For me, I don’t feel any restriction unless I eat too much or too quickly. Eating that extra bite beyond what I should creates a feeling as if the food is coming back up to my throat. Not a good feeling, so I avoid it at all costs. Your body will teach you and it pays to be a good student!🤗 When it has happened, getting up and walking around helps me very quickly. Nothing to fear, Enjoy your journey! 2 Horseshowmom and Tracyringo reacted to this
