Protein Shake are gross. That being said I found Equate high Protein at Walmart. It taste very similar to their weight loss shake which I was already used to. They have 30g of protein and only 5g of carbs.

My surgery date is 12/2/20 (if COVID doesn't shut it down). I started my 2 week liquid diet today as I know it'll take a day or two to get used to no solids. I bought a top rated Protein Shake jug, so I am hoping all goes well. chicken broth will help, but I'm a late night snacker watching TV...it's going to test my will power for sure.

December is getting close!

I still don’t have my official date yet. :/ They just keep saying it will be before the end of the year. Well said, I haven’t heard from them in a week. Part of me wants to email/call but I feel like I’m being a pest! I may contact the girl I originally started talking to, she seemed to have the inside scoop. 😂😂

In a way I want to get there, in another way I’m kind of dreading it. Because of the recovery period... and I am 65.... but other than the obesity I’m in fair health.

I am having my lap-band removed and laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery on 8 December. I started my presurgery diet this past Sunday. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I will be in the hospital for 4 days. I have to report to the hospital the night before.

Im starting to worry about COVID. I live in California and the numbers are starting to go up again. To be expected after Halloween and with flu season but I would be really sad if they cancelled. Especially after the liquid diet thing. No joke it is hard.

I am also worried about my surgery being cancelled. So much can change in three weeks.

MN Governor said he isn't shutting down elective surgeries, I hope that even of he did, it wouldn't be for a week or 2 with my surgery 2 weeks from today. Fingers crossed.

Hi new here and sleeve surgery date is 12/3. Almost a year to get everything done and approved. Day 4 of my pre op diet which is mostly liquid. I’m allowed an Atkins style meal for dinner. It’s been interesting so far. But looking forward to the bigger picture and new start.

Age 42

CW 254 (thanks in part to the pre op diet lol)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
