33lb in one week is quite a lot, did you lose more before the gain?

I am guessing you haven't overeaten enough food to gain 8lb, so it is likely Fluid retention, that could have been caused by prior dehydration, hormones, too much sodium intake or maybe medication. Could even be your scales - presumably they are in the same location, on a flat stable floor (not on carpet), don't need batteries and presumably you are weighing first thing of a morning, after going to the toilet and not having any food or fluids?

If you are going to stick around it would be helpful for you to complete your profile, start weight, current weight, height, type of surgery etc - it helps to give context to questions and helps to frame responses.

Hopefully it is a temporary fluid retention situation, make sure you are getting your fluids, it should go within a day or two. If you continue to gain weight you should check in with your doctor.

Thanks for the reply. I’m very new to this forum and I will update my profile.

So I had the sleeve 9/29. On the day of Surgery I was 333. On my 1 week follow up I was 300. Today 308. I made it a point to only weigh myself at the doc office for consistency purposes lol.

Look at it this way, you have lost 25 lbs total. It is most likely fluids. Don't obsess over the scale too much. I am about 10 months out and have had 3 week stalls, i gained 5 lbs one week, then lost 8 lbs and gained 3 the next. Try to keep a mindset that it is a life long journey. We didn't gain this weight overnight and we can't lose 8t overnight either. Work on developing good habits to replace the bad ones that caused us to gain the weight.

Yes I’m keeping a cool head about it. I’m sticking to my eating plan and I’m walking a couple miles each morning. Thank you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
