sbmcg 11 Posted November 3, 2020 I have not lost any weight since October 14. My surgery was September 14 and I did lose over 30 lbs in the month after surgery. I am tracking my foods and exercising and I’m getting 500-700 calories a day. Trying to get 60 g of Protein but not always getting there and the shakes are intolerable to me. This is very frustrating. Help!
chunkarella 59 Posted November 3, 2020 congrats on ur surgery!! and a lot of people experience this stall. it's your body catching up with all the changes. just keep doing what you're doing and give your body a chance to catch up. keep doing what you're doing w/your Protein and doing the best you can. you'll continue to lose. 1 1 sbmcg and Arabesque reacted to this
kellym1220 474 Posted November 3, 2020 Stalls are common...and frustrating! I keep having stalls, some short, some long, but eventually the weight DOES come off! Also, pay attention to how you look and feel. I have found that the changes in appearance seem to be most noticeable when I am not actually losing weight (as strange as that sounds!). I have slowed to about 10 pounds per month after the first month, but I'm half way to goal and as long as it keeps coming off, I am happy! Good luck!!! 1 1 sbmcg and Arabesque reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted November 4, 2020 almost everyone has their first major stall within the first month or so of surgery. We call it the "three week stall", but it's not always the third week. Do a search on it on this site - you'll find over 15,000 posts on it. It'll last about 1-3 weeks. Just stick to your program and stay off the scale if you have to. As long as you stick to your program, your weight loss WILL start up again...
qianmij 31 Posted November 4, 2020 My surgery was 9/17. Currently I’m still only managing <500 calories a day, waiting on the inevitable stall - but it’s still a 1/2 lb to 1 lb loss each morning for me. My nutritionist/dietician said if I still have energy and able to lift things as before, then she doesn’t care about my amount of Protein - I hit 20-40 daily.
