Mark P 5 Posted November 3, 2020 I started my diet yesterday 11-2 and woke up this morning with severe head aches. How long do these last for? I'm scheduled for my surgery on the 16th and hope these don't last too long! What do you take to help? I stopped drinking about 2 months ago, at the same time i stopped smoking marijuana, cut coffee and pretty much any caffeine in hopes to stop this from happening. Not sure what else could be causing these 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
Hop_Scotch 1,632 Posted November 3, 2020 It may be just a coincidence, otherwise, assuming you have gone low carb or cut out pretty much all carbs it could be 'carb flu'. https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/side-effects 3 GreenTealael, Mark P and Arabesque reacted to this

catwoman7 11,220 Posted November 3, 2020 I agree - carb flu. I had headaches the first few days of my pre-op diet. 2 Arabesque and GreenTealael reacted to this
S@ssen@ch 745 Posted November 3, 2020 I agree. My first thought was "carb flu." Also, if you've cut out or cut down on your other vices, they could also give same/similar symptoms. While I don't have experience with it, caffeine "withdrawal" can come with a headache. I had the "carb flu" about 2 or 3 days into my pre-op prep. I had a nagging headache, fatigue, even muscle soreness and a "brain fog." I think it lasted another 2 or 3 days, but once it passed I felt pretty good. "Clean" is the best way to put it. Best of luck on your journey. 3 GreenTealael, Mark P and Arabesque reacted to this
