It's nice to know that it's not only me. I am tracking my calories and eating around the same amount as you and walking daily. My surgeon said I am able to start doing strength training tomorrow, so I plan to start doing that too. The thing I have the biggest issue with is my Water intake. I was bad with getting in enough Water before surgery as well, so it's a work in progress. I hope we both start losing lots again soon! 💗

Water is the big one for me too! Good luck girlie! I hope we get some progress soon :)

This also appears to have happened with me. I lost 33 lbs after the first week and during my 6 week post surgical visit I hadn’t lost anymore. I also posted on this. The doctor just asked me if I was snacking. Which again I’m eating way less then what I used to eat so that answer was no. I’m pretty much sticking to the routine. Water intake has been a bit challenging for me too. I’m making an effort to drink drink drink. I’m told that water, tea, ices, all sugar free beverages, and Soup all count as Fluid intake.

good luck.

that's really bizarre that your surgeon doesn't know about the three week stall. Pretty much everyone has that. I was told about it in my pre-op classes.

The first post op visit my surgeon was there. The next a PA. Either way I agree they shouldn’t be stumped on this one. Luckily I have other Sleevers to talk to.

So far, just stalled. I was 263 at surgery. Got down to 240 on November 1st. For the past 9 days I've just been at 240.8 or 240.6 or 240.4, 240.0 etc. How about yourself?

I believe my stall happened a week or so after my surgery. I lost 33 lbs and then gained. 4-8lbs. I believe I lost 4 more in the past week. I’m on my cycle so I’m hoping that it’s Water weight gain on top of being in a stall.

Hi, if you look on my page you can message me Via Instagram for lots of advice. You should not be eating and waiting for your body to tell you it's full. You should be measuring. No more than 1/4th cup. Also it has to be soft Protein. And only 3 times a day. If you eat until your full 6 times a day your going to ruin the most important time of your surgery. Stop doing this to yourself. Follow your directions and you will se great results!

Oh that is probably what the weight gain is. I always gain a few lbs during my cycle.. That happened before I had surgery too. You get bloated.

Make sure to always weigh yourself as soon as you wake up and after you use the bathroom -- that way you can have a more clear idea of your weight. Everyone's weight fluctuates during the day after eating & drinking -- it can be a 2-3 lbs difference.

But if you weigh yourself when you wakeup; therefore - have less food/liquids in your system, then you'll get a more accurate, consistent idea of your weight.

Good idea. I plan to weigh myself weekly and see how it goes.

20 pounds in one week is a lot for the body to adjust to. Did you lose weight prior to surgery also? Your body takes time to figure this out.

I was a slow loser. I tracked 100% of what I ate and was 100% honest with myself. I knew when I saw small fluctuations in my weight it wasn’t “weight gain” I was eating 500-700 calories a day . I stayed sane by reframing it. I’d tell myself, I weigh more today, I know I didn’t “gain weight”. It worked for me and it is true. Nobody gains weight eating that small amount. Salt, hydration, sleep, bathroom habits, stress and a lot of things factor into what the scale says any given day. I always joked that today must be a bad gravity day. It’s the overall trajectory that counts.

I also didn’t write the slight fluctuations down because I’d get frustrated. I would wait until a morning when I felt like I lost weight and hop on then.

I’m still at the same weight this week. I’m off my cycle so I’m guessing it’s not that. I’m taking a look at the foods I’m eating. Right now I’m doing 3 meals of 3oz Proteins (about 150 calories) plus 1 oz cooked veggies. I have about two Snacks usually Quest Protein chips (I need something salty and crunchy). The chips are 140 calories with 3g carbs 20g protein. I mostly drink zero sugar Vitamin Water about 60oz a day. I’m having very little bowel movements. If any suggestions on how I should improve my diet to lose more weight let me know.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
