I had the sleeve 15 months ago . I started at 310 now I’m 170 w massive reflux issues. I have a schedule bypass January 7th. I’m so happy I downloaded this app so I can read everyone’s stories. I’m nervous but I’m excited to get off the reflux medication I’m on.

I had the band, not the sleeve, but also had the revision due to reflux and heartburn. It is like night and day. I can lie flat now! I couldn't do that for so long! I can have liquid or something to eat and lie on my couch....couldn't do that without food or liquid coming up. I would throw up at least twice a day and I was always woken up at night to have to get the reflux out of my system.

I now sleep through he night! And have zero pain. I can have Tomato Soup and Tomato sauce! Take away the weight loss that comes from the bypass, the revision was over the top worth it to not feel pain and have to throw up all the time.

You will be so happy!

Isn’t that an amazing mood booster!!! So glad you were able to get out. It’s so easy to want to stay tucked inside with the weather being colder now, but I even got to drive 2 times this week!! Yay!! Freedom!!!

The surgery/pain was a walk in the park! Way better than I ever anticipated!

The weight loss is slower than I thought it would be, but I am losing and happy!

It's the perfect time (during co-vid) to concentrate on me. Come April when the world starts looking better, so will we!!!

How about everyone else?

I’m the opposite of truenorth. The surgery pain for me was unbearable. I kept saying to my husband this was the biggest mistake of my life. I had to have help up, down, bathroom... it was truly awful. But about day 6 it changed and I’ve been on a steady happy upward since then! Today was my 2 week doctor post-op. It went great! Down 16lbs, and onto phase 3 diet!! My pain is under control and I am finally able to consistently walk at least 3k steps a day. Also, I can do squats! I haven’t done squats in years!!! I’m so excited everyone, it’s worth it, even if it feels like the biggest mistake at first! I left the hospital off all blood pressure meds. No longer close to being diabetic and I haven’t had to use my c-pap since week one post-op!
things I wish I had prepared better for - it will hurt bad! Just because not for everyone, if I had that in my mind, I would have handled it better. Practiced tiny sips of Water, I practiced slow food and small bites. The tiny, tiny sips of water have been hard for me.
how are all of you doing?

It's going great! I already notice a few differences... my feet aren't as swollen- my flip flops are loose. I'm doing pretty good on eating, nothing has went over bad yet, which is awesome. I'm pretty excited about the weight loss so far. I am struggling to get all my Water in though. The pain is mostly gone, every once in a while I will move wrong and it hurts.

My feet look like normal again too! It is exciting isn’t it!! The Water has been hard for me too. I’ve tried timers and apps... if you find a trick, let me know!!

Same... I thought I was going to die the first day after... pain worse than my c section... weird how it varies so dramatically.

It’s going good! Me and puréed foods don’t get along, so I’ve been eating normal foods and just chewing super well and slow. My Water is okay, I’m not up to the 64oz daily yet. I’m averaging about 40-60g of Protein a day; it’s pretty hard to get to the full 80g my program suggests. I’ve been good since surgery though, I walked to the bathroom immediately after surgery right when I woke up. The pain the first two days was pretty gnarly, but it’s been good since getting home. I took pain meds only that first night I got home. The weight loss is slow but it’s still happening so I’m good with it! I’ve noticed my bones don’t crack when I get up and start moving. I feel like my legs jiggle more mow when I walk, not sure if that’s because of the weight loss or maybe it’s just in my head! 😱 movement is definitely easier now. My Toms would always be super tight on my feet, so there’s a little wiggle room when I wear them. (Yay!!) my clothes are looser now and a blouse that I haven’t worn in 2 years fits again! I am also nowhere near a tired at the end of my day like I used to be! it’s all for the little things, right? Soooo grateful to have you all!!!

I also took pictures the morning of surgery. I haven't taken any since, I don't want to be disappointed in not seeing a difference! I'm not sure when I will retake them. Maybe at 1 month since surgery?

I totally get it! But we probably wouldn't see it as others would. I feel I see it already and I am only at 10 pounds. I am really watching the carb and fat intake and I feel that the fat is coming off faster than the pounds. My face looks thinner. My stomach definitely has gone down. I haven't tried on clothes yet, other than track pants and sweaters....the covid style! I may do that this weekend and see how things feel. But like you, I don't want to be disappointed.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
