Why am I craving chocolate every day?!?!

Recommended Posts

I should put a disclaimer on here about those. For weight loss and good nutrition, those mini warm delights should NOT be eaten on a regular basis. But they're excellent for TOM cravings.

I also removed the picture as I decided that was just cruel.... SORRY!

i was just joking..i watch tv and there is way more of it on there. i thought your picture was an excellent way of showing us what you are talking about...i'm still on the lookout for those things.. i want one.

I tried the Big Train low carb hot cocoa last night and it is soooo GOOD! Too bad it has 3 grams of fat for a cup of hot cocoa. I guess for it to taste good it has to have carbs or fat one. LOL

I thought that there was somehting wrong with me. I have always liked chocolate...but nothing like since being banded. There are certain chocolate items that I have been eating that in the past never appealed to me.

I also take Flintstones chewables. Mine are w/Iron. I don't think that the Vitamins are the catalyst for me. The PA in my surgeons office said that the sweet cravings may be an indication that I am not drinking enough Water.

After reading this post and realizing that I am not alone, I wonder if you are drinking enough Water. Truthfully, I have not been. Let's see if increased water intake will take care of the chocolate cravings.

Okay, fess up you guys. How many (besides me) have gotten triple their Calcium intake by eating those chocolate Chewy Calium things? Ohhh, they are sooo good.

I justify it by saying I didn't take Calcium yesterday so I need double the Chocolate... or Calcium chewys today. Right?

GUILTY! :faint:How did you know?

So you guys are able to eat the calcium chews without a problem? I've been scared to try any sticky type stuff since I had an issue with jelly Beans awhile back. I will try the chews and see if that helps. The Calcium cant hurt and those lemon chewable calcium tablets I have been taking are not very good.

I take the Viactiv chews, and I don't have a problem with them, but my band isn't very tight right now. But if you chew and chew and chew them, I doubt they'd give you trouble, and you'd get to enjoy them a little longer! :huggie:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
