The Rising Phoenix 0 Posted October 22, 2020 Hi everyone.I’m new to this forum. I just had RNY on Monday, and I’m having terrible gas pains. I did pass gas inthe hospital eventually, but now I’m home and it feels like it’s building up a lot. Hopefully this is someone normal and I don’t need to be as worried as I am yet. I’m happy to have found this community and I’m looking forward to learning and sharing experiences with everyone.
kellym1220 474 Posted October 22, 2020 I was surprised by where I felt that gas pains, and how it came back on day 4 or 5 after being fine on day 3! It was in my right shoulder and HOLY MOLY it hurt! I actually ended up taking a pain pill and going to bed early. It was gone the next day, so phew! This too shall pass...congratulations!!

nicolenat 2 Posted October 22, 2020 I had my VSG last week and, as someone who never had gas before, the gas I now get caught in my chest is rough. I have been taking Pepto and Prilosec OTC which gives me pain relief but the gas is still there. I shared this with my doctor and they said it shouldn't be a forever thing but just momentary. I'm exactly 8 days out and still have the gas bubble in my chest.

Bless your heart I can imagine. I deal with a bad rotator cuff aleady. I am waiting on Insurance approval for my bypass so hoping for sometime in November.
