I'm craving something salty... so why not Feta cheese right?? WRONG I've been feeling aweful since, I feel like I'm 19 and hung over... in bed and everytime I move i feel sick.

I really thought Feta would be ok since it's a soft cheese... what salty foods curb your salty cravings? I'm 3 weeks post op on soft foods.

How about some broth?

Also, when I was at 4 weeks-ish, I had canned smoked oysters regularly. Salty AND soft. (though I realize this may not be appealing to most...Mr. HATES the smell and left/leaves the room when I pop open a can, lol)

I’m with your husband Ms.SSS. Can’t do oysters since I they gave me food poisoning many, many years ago.

I love danish feta - all soft, creamy & salty but find Greek feta too rubbery. Our tummies tend to be very fussy the first couple of months & often foods we used to enjoy make our tummies revolt. It can be taste or texture that sets it off.

Try Soups & broths. Even make a hot drink using stock powder/cubes. Can you tolerate eggs? Sprinkle some extra salt on the top. Same with rolled oats, mashed avocado, mashed tinned fish.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
