5days post op and everything going through me

Hi im 5 days post op from a gastric bypass and on liquid diet. I have broth it goes through me. I have the Meal Replacement it goes through me. Diarrhoea. Has anyone else had this problem.

I think in my program book it says that taking a Fiber supplement is okay did you try reaching out to your bariatric nurse To see what she suggests? Diarrhea on top of healing ugh. Hope you feel better

Yes they said to stick only to the shakes Meal Replacements and not have anything else but Water. But today even the shake is going straight through. Thank you

Be sure to discuss this with your Doc.

I would expect your liquid diet to go straight through. It's annoying, but it also allows your surgery to heal. The firmer the content the more your new surgery is stressed. I would expect it to change once you are allowed to go to food.

If your Doc is not concerned I wouldn't be.

Oh yes mine started on Day 3 seems to have let up by day 6. I am on an all liquid diet so to me it was coming out the way it went in. As long as you aren't going 6 times an hour and just shortly after eating I think it's OK.

Yeah, my doctor told me to expect diarrhea until I am back on mostly solids. That's normal.

Thank you all I managed to keep a shake and a weak coffee in yesterday. So im happy about that
