ZeeWP 3 Posted October 18, 2020 Yesterday I started to feel hungry. And today too. Sure it was easy to handle, an ounce of Protein, but isn't it too early? I heard people waited months to feel hungry... 1 missris88 reacted to this

Officially Not Fatty Matty 462 Posted October 18, 2020 I felt what I think was hunger the first two weeks or so. It was probably stomach pain from the surgery as the stomach contracted. Hard to tell for sure. Since then I haven’t been hungry at all (four months out).. occasionally I’ll get what I remember as hunger pangs but they last literally a few seconds and are gone. kellym1220 474 Posted October 18, 2020 I heard that stomach acid can seem like hunger and my surgeon prescribed an antacid for the first six months. Are you taking an antacid? 1 Arabesque reacted to this
Elidh 241 Posted October 18, 2020 Yes, that gnawing feeling I had post- op was alleviated by omeprazole.
STLoser 1,099 Posted October 18, 2020 I started feeling actual hunger, definitely not acid, about 1 month post op. Everyone is different, but it does take most people longer. Sent from my Nokia 7.2 using BariatricPal mobile app
WishMeSmaller 1,274 Posted October 18, 2020 I have felt hunger since day one. It doesn’t take much to fill me up though (protein is my go to for hunger). I don’t feel hunger like I used to though, which was all day, everyday, but I typically feel hungry at least once per day. I wish I didn’t get hungry, but like I said, it is easy to fix with a bit of dense Protein. Hope all goes well with you! 3 JoanneLaRusch, Bwa and STLoser reacted to this
Jaelzion 1,128 Posted October 19, 2020 I had no appetite at all for two weeks. My cousin, on the other hand, ate a chicken wing before leaving the hospital! There's no hard and fast rule. 1 ScarlettMomOf6 reacted to this

amanda.edwards0714 2 Posted October 22, 2020 Hunger feeling can also be gastric acids. Take a tums. Works for me every time. We aren't hungry in our bellies, were hungry in our brains. the tums trick works . Bwa 24 Posted October 28, 2020 I am exaclty one week post op and I was surprised and disappointed to be hungry within this time span. It's easy to fix it; I'll have some broth typically it I'm between meals. But it's definitely hunger. I'm already taking Prilosec so I know it isn't stomach acid. You are not alone.Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app 2 JoanneLaRusch and ScarlettMomOf6 reacted to this
ScarlettMomOf6 1 Posted October 28, 2020 Im hungry too and that concerns me. I feel like if i just ate a soft scrambled egg it would go away but my surgical instr. say one more week of Clear Liquids. From what i can tell every surgeon is different. I feel like ive been WAY under educated for this surgery tho because the purpose of mine was for preparation for abdominal wall reconstruction once ive lost enough weight...
