Do you know what you need to do to try turn it around?

I spoke to my surgeon today as I was really starting to doubt myself and was almost ready to cancel the surgery. I was very close to doing so, because I reasoned that if I can't do this diet how in the world will I successfully handle the sleeve.

I got some reassurance from my support team, my surgeon, and this forum that I'm now feeling upbeat again! I'm genuinely excited and ready to take on the challenges that lay ahead.

I'm on Day 4 and I've lost about 4 pounds. I'm doing most things right, so why only focus on the minor setbacks! I'll learn from them but not throw in the towel!

Sometimes pre-op diets are the hardest part of the process (especially if after you have no complications)

My first WLS, no pre-op diet required but I did one for a few days because I was nervous. Second WLS it was required and I wanted to fight it every step of the way, asked my Surgeon a few times why was it needed for "me", 🤣

Basically told me I wasnt special, everyone is going on it - even "me". So I toughed it out and it was tough. Everyday. But if taken day by day, one angry shower scream session at a time. You can do it. Don't give up.

Hahahaha... I think that's where I was.... rebelling and fighting it.

It's probably how some of my moments of weakness occurred, but I'm optimistic about tomorrow. Day five will be a success!

This is a one day at at time and like @ms.sss said, it's never to late to turn it around.

Being prepared is one of the best things you can do... Pre and post. I found that when if failed to prepare, i failed..... Just like the old saying..... When you fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

I knew everyday what i was going to have. I made myself a checklist of what and the time and stuck to it. You will have to adjust it for what your dr. says. I printed one for each day and stuck to it. I ate a lot of Wonton Soup broth. Water was sometimes another Protein Drink. I'm a visual person and if i see it, i will/can do it.image.png.e32f054305cef697903818326343bc67.png

I should probably change the name of this post from I’m doing it to...I did it!

Cant believe that I’m on the postop side now. I’m looking forward to seeing how this journey progresses. The preop liquid diet was not my friend. I messed up here and there but fortunately the surgery went well.

I’m mobile and no pain as of right now. I’m super excited of what’s next. I do have gas that comes and go, but I think the medication really helps with that. After surgery my stomach felt like a balloon! I was sooooo bloated. Now it’s feeling much better. I’m feeling really great except for my energy level going up and down which is expected after surgery.

Thank you so much for that schedule!!! I’m so going to stick to eat, but how long did it take you to reach 8oz in one sitting?

I’m a gulper so can’t wait till I can drink beyond an ounce at a time! Haha

a while... this schedule was more so for Preop diet.... but it can be used for after. I would say, change the 8oz to 4oz till your intake is more. I still sip, gulps sit in my stomach and make me feel bloated.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
