Anyone else stalling?

Recommended Posts

I haven't had surgery yet, but from reading the forums for research, it seems the 3 week stall is a thing. If you search for 3 week stall on here, you get a ton of hits.

You'll break through it [emoji3531]

almost everyone goes through the infamous "three week stall". If you do a search on this site for you, you'll find over 15,000 posts on it (and no, I am NOT kidding...)

just stick to your plan and stay off the scale for a few days if you need to. The stall WILL break.

I am a little over 2 months PO and I have stalled so many times it’s unreal!! I’ll drop like crazy for a week then hit a stall for a week. It drives me crazy because I do the same things all the time.

I’m 6 weeks in a few days and feel the exact same, lol.

I'll be starting week 4 tomorrow and I have experienced a bit of a stall over the past week as well. I've just been continuing to do everything that I'm supposed to and this morning I did get a slight drop so here's hoping things are starting to move again. I know from everything I've read that it's normal so I'm trying very had to not let it get to me. Good luck to you on your journey.

Same thing happened to me around week 3-4 and again this week at week 9-10!! The first stall was because I actually wasn't getting in enough Protein or calories (crazy right) and my nutritionist says that stalls and fluctuations are common and normal, due to Water weight, retention, etc.

How about the year stall, I want to lose way more than I did.

I had occasionally stalls throughout my whole journey. They seemed to be more frequent and lasted longer the further out I went. There were three or four times when I thought "well....this is it...", and then I'd start losing again. It finally stopped at 20 months out. So you may still have a chance!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
