I’m thankful for a lot, but also grateful our big family thanksgiving was cancelled this year so it was just me and my husband/kids. No need to explain turning down the turkey! Not a traditional thanksgiving in ANY sense, so I hope to be looking back next year with a good sense of humor at my Covid-cancelled Tomato Soup thanksgiving. We all have years of great thanksgivings ahead of us. Same! We canceled plans due to Covid, so it was just us and the kids. I'm keeping my surgery private so the pressure to explain was lifted. 2 blackcatsandbaddecisions and Kmart2629 reacted to this
PrettyBrown 9 Posted November 27, 2020 I had my sleeve done on 11/24; I’m one day out. Today is my first full day at home. I’m having a frickin’ HARD time getting anything down at all. Is that normal? Has anyone else experienced this??

I’ve had to try lots of different things to find things that go down easier. Jello makes me vomit, Protein Shakes are tough - I have to drink them verrrry slowly, but Water and flavored water go down very well. I’m going to keep trying to find things that go down easily - and hopefully find some with Protein. My doc told me the most important part for this first 2 weeks is hydration so I’m working on that and trying not to worry about much else. 2 PrettyBrown and Kmart2629 reacted to this
bufbills 316 Posted November 27, 2020 Yep. I carved the turkey for my family and retreated to the living room with my muscle milk. Tough gay but I enjoyed it anyway. 2 Shalaura1 and Kmart2629 reacted to this
Kmart2629 1 Posted November 28, 2020 I had my surgery 11/18. So far so good. Thanksgiving was different. I was just a couple days into phase 2 diet. I was surprised when all I ate and was full from was a few bites. Today I finally am learning what they say about this being mental change. It was my first day alone all day and boredom hunger crept in. I did good got my fluids (water) in to help subdue that feeling. Then the family came back from day two of Turkey Day with left overs, which included and was mostly Desserts. I know I wasn't supposed to but I had a bite of chocolate cake. My wife who had the surgery said hope you don't get sick because of the sugar. I luckily didn't, but feel shameful that I ate that. Hopefully it's a shock of reality that there was a reason I did this... to be here for my wife and kids. Going to stay strong. 1 PrettyBrown reacted to this

Even if I take sips of Water I still feel has bubbling up. Doesn’t help my doctor only have me Vicodin, which I already take daily for back and neck pain. Feel horrible and I had it done Tuesday as well. 1 PrettyBrown reacted to this

Sent from my SM-G973U using BariatricPal mobile app I honestly don’t know why some doctors require such a low calorie restriction pre op. The only benefit about mu doctor is that it was normal no sugar no fat diet before surgery. I guess at least you’ll be used to little calories for after surgery though. 2 1 Shalaura1, MommaJay and PrettyBrown reacted to this

SATaylor78 1 Posted November 29, 2020 Hi! I’m officially 8 days PO stop and doing pretty well. Getting my fluids in. Protein shakes....doing better. I’m struggling with the texture, yuck. I’ve gotten some recipes I’m going to try and hopefully get better with that. My dr allows soft foods at this point so I’m eating eggs, very soft chicken, cottage cheese, etc. The incision that gives me pain, sometimes pretty bad pain, is the incision of which the remainder of the stomach was removed. Now a deep, deep bruise pain, but better than being “stabbed” earlier in the week. Do I seem like I’m on the right track? I don’t want to mess this up. Confession: would love a good carbonated coke right now. Ugh. 1 PrettyBrown reacted to this

It's when they make you drink 20 oz of water and keep it down. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I chewed a few things and spit it out. I also ate green Beans and cabbage which were delicious. My date was 11/16.
