Hi guys. Getting desperat now. No BM since before surgery 8 days ago.

My tummy are starting to hurt also.

Will try some natural remedies today and see if it helps. If not I have to get something stronger from the parmacy. 😥

People recommend Smooth Move tea. I think my surgeon will actually send me home with meds for Constipation.

Are you sure it was Ritalin and not Reglan? Reglan would make more sense since it is for reflux/stomach acid. It’s important to know so you can list it as a drug allergy.

It’s very likely reglan. Anxiety and panic attacks ARE a possible side effect of IV reglan. There is no IV Ritalin—that is a drug for ADHD.

Hope it happens for you soon! Took me 6 days, I think, and now I have the opposite problem... Everything is SUPER loose. Ugh...

How many bites could you get in?! I’m so excited for eggs.. in two weeks lol. My program doesn’t allow them until week 4

My plan says 1-2T of egg with 1-2T of something else (I chose the applesauce option). I got the whole egg in, and maybe 1 baby spoon of the applesauce. It's sitting well so far... I'm more worried about the multivitamin.

This shows the brand and size of the capsule, and the back side shows the amounts.

Did you get to choose your mulitvitamin or did the docs prescribe/provide it? At my post op appointment tomorrow they said they are giving me a bunch of Vitamins. I've added the nutrition handbook that I was given here as it lists them out

I'll check that out shortly... but I was given guidelines, and suggestions. They suggested opurity Vitamins, but with the guidelines, I searched a bunch of different types on Amazon, and this is the one I chose 🙂

I just worry that they are going to try and charge me an arm and a leg...

Well, you mentioned they said they were giving you Vitamins at the appt... does that mean like... GIVING them to you? Or just saying you need to take them from that appt on?

My plan just said I had to have certain amounts of key vitamins in whichever I chose, and listed a couple possibilities. Ultimately, it was up to me, which is why I spent literally an entire day, pre op, looking at vitamins on Amazon. The opurity option (from Unjury) was relatively inexpensive and touched all the points, but I have an Amazon CC, so it came down to that, to be honest.

Welcome all November babies, including myself! My surgery was 11/5/20. It's not a full sleeve* due to other health reasons, but for all intents and purposes my recovery is the same.

How is everyone doing? I'm finding that my energy is flagging.....so I'm going to work on drinking drinking drinking.

*Edited to add: Not a full sleeve because I've had multiple GI surgeries and have too much scar tissue to do the sx in a traditional manner. When I re-read my original sentence, it sounded like "oh I've only got a half sleeve" or something similar. Nope, this was a pretty hefty surgery with multiple organs involved, and my "sleeve" is a bit non-traditional. Thank goodness for doctors who will work cooperatively.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
