SassyTigris 16 Posted November 3, 2020 I am packed, Jewellery off, and family contacted. We did all the bloodwork the week before last. I just check in at 11 with Surgery at 1pm. I have been "nesting" for the last 3 weeks so I have a very clean house and have set up some light Christmas projects to do shortly after the surgery. My husband will be working from home so I'm good with that. My 19 year old daughter (my youngest ) took next week off to come and keep me company. I Work with handicapped adults and am off for 6 weeks but I have asked to still do all the administrative work, like monthly financials and such. They will call all the time so I'll feel connected. I'm from the Saskatoon area of Saskatchewan in Canada. Tomorrow we have to drive the 3 hours it takes to get to where the surgery will take place, They do the Surgeries on Mondays and we get discharged on Thursdays as ready as I will ever be and excited beyond belief. I have been on Protein Drinks and clear fluids for the last 2 weeks, which was a lot easier than I expected. It was the same when I quit smoking, I got the call to enter the program on a Friday and I quit on Sunday, no issues. I want to know where all this was before I entered the program ...lol GivingItMyAll 2xacharm Wichita Gal Michele65 tropico78 caitmarie VickieRenee Neller SassyTigris Today I was benched, I'm officially on the losers bench!!! [emoji3590]I spent extra time in recovery because my oxygen levels were low. After 3 hours in recover,I went up to my room feeling very nauseated and dry heaving. The pain is at a tolerable level so that is good. I am very happy to have been able to get this done so no complaints for me.[emoji846]How are the rest of you doing? VickieRenee 56 Posted November 3, 2020 Hi all! Had my surgery yesterday and other than being tired, I feel great and am so very excited for my new healthier chapter. I’ve been walking with no issues and after an X-ray I should be able to have Water and a Protein Shake. Yum! 😜 3 GivinItMyALL, tropico78 and Neller reacted to this
Neller 114 Posted November 3, 2020 I had the surgery yesterday and am home now. It went very smoothly, I had very little pain, no nausea, and am tolerating fluids well. I am surprised at how easy it was. Yesterday I was really groggy, and slept most of the day. I'm about ready for a nap today, but I'm trying to get my first Protein Shake in first. I hope everyone else is doing well! Sent from my SM-T710 using BariatricPal mobile app 2 GivinItMyALL and VickieRenee reacted to this

SassyTigris 16 Posted November 3, 2020 I'm glad you guys are doing well... I'm having a really rough go of it. The nausea is kicking my ass all over the place. On day 1 (the day after surgery) I am supposed to have 30 ml (1oz) every hour. I'm lucky if I get 10ml and even then I end up dry heaving all over the place. The lady I'm sharing the room with said I've gotten her gagging a few times. [emoji17]I'm a terrible neighbour. The nurse says it's ok... It's not abnormal so it should wear off. Fingers crossed for that sooner rather than later. Sent from my SM-G965W using BariatricPal mobile app

They sent me home with a prescription for ondansetron (Zofran). If I'm talking and moving my head around that will make me nauseated too. {I'm an animated talker} lol
NikkiRose17 2 Posted November 4, 2020 Hey fellow November sleevers! Anyone else not be required to start the liquid diet until a week before surgery? Mine starts tomorrow. Surgery is 11/11. I’m seeing a different consensus in this app.
