MoominMan 17 Posted September 17, 2020 Had bypass on August 10. Between then and Sept 08 I lost 14.6 kg (32 pounds) - but since then nothing. It's now been 10 days since I lost any weight and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Wondering if I should cut back on portion sizes (I have a small Breakfast but lunch and dinner are around 150-200g each).
Double_Me 133 Posted September 17, 2020 14.6 kg is fantastic for one month! I had a 7 day stall as well a couple of weeks after surgery. Then I lost 5 lbs within a couple of days. Just keep at it and you'll be fine. Has your body continued to show changes? While my weight was stalled, I still was noticing physical changes to my body (had to swap out for a smaller belt). As for portion sizes, what did your dietitian advise? I usually eat about 60g of Protein per meal with an additional 30g of a side food if I have room. NovaLuna 710 Posted September 17, 2020 You likely hit the three week stall. It's incredibly common and can last 1-3 weeks on average. Stalls are a normal part of weight loss so try not to get discouraged (basically impossible, I know). Your body is just adjusting to rapid weight loss and is just needing a bit of time to process the change. Stalls will happen throughout your journey and it will alternately irritate you and make you question every little thing you do because you'll feel like you must be doing SOMETHING wrong. But it's normal. Just ride it out and continue to eat like you're supposed to and the weight loss will start back up again. 1 sillykitty reacted to this

Set up an appointment w the dietician like the other poster said and go over food log they have seen it many times before and probably have some tips for you

It causes more stress to stress about it, than to actually just wait it out. There are 15500 post about this. 99% of them will state just wait and follow your plan. three week stall for sure. Happens to almost everyone. Just stick to your plan and stay off the scale for a few days if you have to. Your weight loss WILL start up again. My first stall lasted two weeks (weeks 2 & 3). Once my weight loss started up again during week 4, I dropped like 6-8 lbs within a couple of days.
The Greater Fool 2,054 Posted September 17, 2020 If you are eating on plan the scale is lying to you. Cast it aside! Tek, who doesn't weigh himself.
