Baratric Advantage is my go to. I like the chewy strawberry and orange flavors. I've also bought the chewable tablet ones in cherry and although those ones are a little chalky I still like them.

I've never experienced nausea from Calcium supplements, but if the soft chews aren't working for you, you could try BariMelts. They have a sample pack for $5.95 that includes calcium (among other things), so you can see if you like it before you buy a whole bottle. I took those for the first 6 weeks after surgery and they're not bad (though I now take BariatricPal French vanilla Caramel soft chews and much prefer them). They are very large and you have to take 6 per day. They melt in your mouth, and you don't need Water, but I prefer to drink water while they're in my mouth to make them dissolve faster.

I have a bag of soft chew carmel from them. I will try one of those tomorrow to see if it makes me sick too. I did see the cherry ones on the website that you are talking about. I am not sure if its a soft chew tolerance problem or a Calcium tolerance problem yet. I am supposed to be getting a sample kit from BA already. The Vitamins are just so pricy to end up with a batch that makes you sick 🥴

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
