Foxbins 625 Posted September 11, 2020 I've had lighter-colored stools since my bypass on 6/29. When I had pancreatitis from gall stones, stools were clay-colored and I felt very sick. If you don't feel pain in the upper right under and just below your ribs, it's probably not your gall bladder. Your doctor can check your lipase and amylase levels too. 1 LisaMc47 reacted to this
Sammi_Katt 303 Posted September 12, 2020 Mine was like that right before my gallbladder failed. Should bring it up with your surgeon or doctor, just to be safe. ❤️ 1 LisaMc47 reacted to this
Recidivist 1,141 Posted September 12, 2020 Mine was almost yellow for quite a while after my surgery, and there were no issues as far as I'm aware. It did get back to normal eventually. 2 Tomo and LisaMc47 reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted September 12, 2020 I had weird colored poop for the first three or four weeks post-surgery, but after that - no. I'd just check with your doctor or surgeon. If nothing else, for peace of mind. 1 LisaMc47 reacted to this
LisaMc47 3 Posted September 12, 2020 I had my gallbladder out a few years ago so I can rule that out.I have been eating alot of beige foods....cottage cheese every day,babybel,yoghurt...the only green I've been having is a bit of lettuce so am thinking these may be a contributing factor...I have no pain etc.. Lynnlovesthebeach 626 Posted September 12, 2020 I had that right after my bypass too. Actually, I had some bowel movements that were completely white! Very strange looking. My surgeon said it was because things were moving through my bowel so quickly no bile was mixing in to give it color and that it wouldn't last long. He was right. 1 LisaMc47 reacted to this

Also yellow poop can be a lactose intolerance you can develop food intolerances after these procedures but for some its only temporary. Your physician can decide if he wants to run a liver panel just to be safe because only he knows all your comorbities we do not

Blue Crystal 18 Posted November 29, 2020 I’m post-op almost four weeks and noticed this as well. After a lame attempt to self-diagnose with Dr. Google, I read that bile causes your poop to be brown, so it could be a gallbladder or liver issue. I messaged my surgeon and they said it was likely because my intestines aren’t absorbing as much fat (a good thing), and this can cause your stool to look whiteish and/or yellowish. They did say it should eventually get back to normal though. 1 Tomo reacted to this
