Kirstenwatson7 0 Posted September 7, 2020 Hello, I am day 3 post op gastric sleeve. I had to stay 2 nights in the hospital instead of 1 due to nausea and vomiting. I am struggling to get my liquids in today. I am scared it will make me vomit. I am taking very small sips of propel, sugar free Gatorade and diluted Protein Shakes. Will this continue to get easier each day? Any tips?

NovaLuna 710 Posted September 7, 2020 (edited) Well I never vomited food after my surgery. I vomited blood. For two days. But after that I was fine (my surgery involves a sleeved stomach btw). As for nausea it came and went and still comes and goes. If I go too long without eating I start to feel nauseous. If I eat too fast... nauseous. If I eat too much... nauseous. Everyone is different and their bodies handle the surgery different, but you're only 3 days post op. I'm almost positive the nausea will go away within the next few days. You might have it give you visits like it does to me lol, but even if it does I got used to it and I don't regret my surgery in the least. kellym1220 474 Posted September 7, 2020 (edited) Every day should get better! If it doesn't, contact your surgeon. (S)he will give you some ideas and it will be noted in your chart if it doesn't improve and you need to contact them for assistance later. I got better every day and feel great about 5 weeks post-op! Good luck!! Edited September 7, 2020 by kellym1220
