DwGirl 94 Posted September 5, 2020 When I tell you I have so Many mixed feelings It would be an understatement, So happy and grateful to have finally had my surgery But post op is not a joke there are a lot of hurdles you have to going over and I'm taking it slow drinking Water walking and pain management are some of the few things I hope soon all I'm gonna remember is good stuff because right now it's really hard. BigSue 1,391 Posted September 5, 2020 Welcome to the post-op side! Hang in there... My first few days after surgery were miserable (including intense regret when I first woke up), but I'm 7 weeks out and it all seems like a distant memory now. 3 breavsg, sizemedown and STLoser reacted to this

STLoser 1,099 Posted September 8, 2020 The first week, I really regretted the surgery and kept asking why I did this to myself. I cried a lot. I felt overwhelmed. I'm happy to report that the first couple weeks were the hardest, and after that it got better. I'm 7 weeks out and I feel great now! I'm so happy I got my surgery!!Sent from my moto g(6) using BariatricPal mobile app 1 DwGirl reacted to this

gtotheb 16 Posted September 10, 2020 Thank you for sharing this! I am Day 2 of post op and am MISERABLE. So much pain it’s hard to get comfortable. Been walking a lot which helps to move gas but I find breathing deeply very painful. Really looking forward to getting through this week. 1 1 DwGirl and tarotcardreader reacted to this
PolkSDA 116 Posted September 10, 2020 (edited) I came out of anesthesia at about 1:30PM the day of my surgery. That afternoon, night and following day were absolutely dismal. I think I maybe slept an hour that first night. The pain and discomfort were overwhelming. I had been fighting severe Constipation the last 2 days before surgery, and I believe that exacerbated everything. I went home the afternoon following surgery, and the first several days everything was tentative and ginger. However, it steadily improved and by day 10 I felt completely back to normal, as if I'd never had surgery. No soreness or pain at all. So it does get better. Hang in there! EDIT: I just noticed that mine was a different procedure, sorry about that. General principle still applies though; gotta just forge ahead.
